Country singer Ray Stevens is recovering after breaking his neck in a fall. <\/p>\n
On Sunday, Stevens fell and broke his neck, according to a press release shared with The Times. The two-time Grammy winner was \u201cbriefly hospitalized in the Nashville area and is now recovering at home,\u201d and was advised by doctors to wear a neck brace for the next four weeks. <\/p>\n
\u201cDespite the injury, he remains fully mobile and in good spirits as he continues his recovery,\u201d the statement read. <\/p>\n
Stevens still plans to release his upcoming album, \u201cFavorites Old & New,\u201d this Friday. The album features recordings of classic songs like \u201cIt Had to Be You\u201d and \u201cCome Rain or Come Shine,\u201d as well as originals. <\/p>\n
\u201cI had a lot of fun creating this album, \u2018Favorites Old & New,\u2019\u201d explained Stevens in the press release. \u201cIt really does contain a few of my favorite old songs as well as favorite new ones penned by some talented writers. I just hope Ray Stevens fans enjoy it as much as Ray Stevens!\u201d<\/p>\n
In July, Stevens suffered a heart attack<\/a> that required a heart catheterization and subsequent surgery. Shortly after the heart attack, Stevens shared<\/a> on Instagram that he was \u201cworking towards recovering from this surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cRay is very grateful for all of the cards and get-well messages,\u201d the post read. \u201cEverything is Still Beautiful!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n Stevens has won two Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. Upon his induction to the Hall of Fame, he quipped to The Times<\/a> that his retirement was not on the horizon. <\/p>\n \u201cI feel fine; I\u2019ll probably keel over after I hang up the phone. [He laughs.] But I\u2019m gonna do what I want to do because I can,\u201d Stevens said. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
