I was not to be depended on emotionally whatsoever,\u201d the actor \u2014 who self-described as a \u201ccar wreck\u201d \u2014 confessed, noting that he takes \u201cfull responsibility for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amid their relationship rollercoaster, Eric fondly reflected on how becoming a dad changed his life. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>He emphasized how proud he was of his daughter. <span class=\"credit\">Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson\/Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Eric also acknowledged that he was not someone to depend on emotionally when Emma (seen here in 2025) was younger.  <span class=\"credit\">emmaroberts\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He recalled being able to soothe a newborn Emma by signing \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d to her \u2014 a song he also sang while Cunningham was pregnant. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe stopped screaming and tried to find my face with her little blind eyes,\u201d he recounted. \u201cIt was the most complete moment maybe I have ever had in my life. That something I did was recognized by a brand-new creature who had my DNA. Oh my god. And there she was, and she already knew me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe tried to find me,\u201d the \u201cDark Knight\u201d actor continued. \u201cIt was magic.
