Ray Stevens has had a rough couple of years, and things just got a little tougher for the country music icon.<\/p>\n
Stevens\u2019 representative, Don Murry Grubbs, revealed that the 87-year-old singer recently suffered a broken neck after falling at his home.<\/p>\n
\u201cDoctors have advised Stevens to wear a neck brace for approximately four weeks,\u201d the statement from Grubbs said. <\/b><\/a>\u201cDespite the injury, he remains full mobile and in good spirits as he continues his recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n A post on Stevens X page said that the fall took place on March 29, and that he was \u201cbriefly hospitalized.\u201d<\/p>\n Stevens revealed last summer that he had surgery following a mild heart attack.<\/p>\n Stevens was admitted to a hospital in Nashville on July 4, 2025, according to another post on his X account, after complaining of chest pain. A heart catheterization found that he had a heart attack. He then underwent surgery to correct issues that led to the heart attack.<\/p>\n The comedic songwriter and singer has been performing since 1957.<\/p>\n He actually announced that he would retire following his 2024 slate, but that lasted just months. Stevens announced last May that he was returning to performing on a regular basis, and would be singing songs off his new album, \u201cSay Whut?\u201d as well as his hits from the past.<\/p>\n Stevens was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019.
