This song will appear on their forthcoming 12-track record, along with opener \u2018Ember\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe songs needed to be immediate, urgent, raw, and fast,\u201d explained frontman Elias R\u00f8nnenfelt. \u201cWe wanted to try to shed any unnecessary weight. Catching outlets of energy is what excites us the most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018For Love Of Grace &amp; The Hereafter\u2019 is described as Iceage\u2019s \u201ctightest album to date, even glossy at times, but not tight enough to dull its pulse\u201d. It contains \u201cwordless howls, nastily detuned riffs that bend into harmony, breakdowns, handclaps, and a chaotic choral break seemingly played on pennywhistles\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Iceage - Ember (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CvZeiiipRMk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The project, produced and mixed by Iceage and Nis Bysted, showcases the band\u2019s \u201cfundamental curiosity and trust in their instincts\u201d, and has been called \u201cbright and energetic\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It was recorded last year at Silence Studio in rural Sweden, where Iceage also made 2014\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/reviews-iceage-15685-324061\">\u2018Plowing Into The Field Of Love\u2019<\/a>. They returned to the same studio in a bid to capture \u201cthe same intense energy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The lyrics were written only a few weeks before the group headed to the studio to prevent the record from being too fragmented and to \u201cincrease the sense of risk and urgency\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A description adds: \u201cThere is no affectation or prescription to this record \u2013 no palette of curated influence or sought sound. It is the sum total of inspirations, shared openly in the name of playing and playing\u2019s pleasures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beginning with a twinkling glockenspiel and guitar intro, new single \u2018Ember\u2019 quickly launches into a raucous indie-rock sound. The barrelling tune invites its subject to race through the city of love, with R\u00f8nnenfelt declaring: \u201c<em>I love you in an ominous way\/ Are you willing to pay? Are you willing to break?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The accompanying music video was directed by the band and\u00a0Ira R\u00f8nnenfelt. I can write something, play it right away, and it doesn\u2019t have to be rehearsed. There was freedom in that, realising that the road from writing to putting it in front of people is extremely short,\u201d he explained<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the common thing for all of the songs on the record \u2013 they were meant to be able to function when stripped back to basics. Iceage always did that as well. We always played new material before it was anywhere near recorded.
