The latest album from an acclaimed country music<\/a> singer will still be released on time despite the musician breaking his neck roughly two weeks before.<\/p>\n Ray Stevens is recovering after the \u201cMisty\u201d singer broke his neck in a fall on Sunday, March 29, according to a press release sent out Tuesday morning. The two-time Grammy Award<\/a> winner was briefly hospitalized in the Nashville area and is said to be recovering at home.<\/p>\n \u201cDoctors have advised Stevens to wear a neck brace for approximately four weeks,\u201d the release states. \u201cDespite the injury, he remains fully mobile and in good spirits as he continues his recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n Injury aside, Stevens\u2019 forthcoming album \u201cFavorites Old & New\u201d will still be released on Friday via Curb Records. The 13-track project will feature new takes on classic songs such as \u201cThe Look of Love,\u201d \u201cIt Had To Be You\u201d and \u201cCome Rain or Come Shine\u201d accompanied by new selections, including \u201cI Guess You\u2019ve Never Been in Love With the Moon,\u201d \u201cMoving Out is Easier Than Moving On\u201d and \u201cTime Machine.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI had a lot of fun creating this album, \u2018Favorites Old & New,\u2019\u201d Stevens\u2019 statement in the release read. \u201cIt really does contain a few of my favorite old songs as well as favorite new ones penned by some talented writers. In July 2025, Stevens had heart surgery<\/a> after he suffered what was being described as a \u201cmild heart attack.\u201d The country music legend was admitted to a Nashville hospital after he began experiencing chest pain. He underwent a heart catheterization procedure, citing a statement from his publicity team, that confirmed that he\u2019d had a heart attack.<\/p>\n Stevens\u2019 heart attack occurred not long after the Country Hall of Fame<\/a> member came out of retirement<\/a> for the new run of shows. Stevens previously performed what he initially said were his final shows<\/a> at the end of 2024.<\/p>\n Stevens, who is best known for his many novelty hits of the \u201970s and \u201980s, has been performing for more than 50 years. Otherwise known as the \u201cClown Prince of Country Music,\u201d Stevens\u2019 most popular songs include “Everything Is Beautiful<\/a>” and “Misty<\/a>,\u201c as well as novelty hits such as \u201dGitarzan<\/a>” and “The Streak<\/a>.”<\/p>\n Stevens was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. He is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Christian Music Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n Stevens is also an accomplished producer, music publisher, TV star and real estate developer in addition to singer and songwriter.
