Dylan Marlowe\u00a0<\/strong>has formed a new band, 80 Acres<\/strong>, alongside Christian Strahley<\/strong> (drums), Ethan Leak<\/strong> (guitar) David Medlin<\/strong> (guitar), and John Frisch\u00a0<\/strong>(bass). The band has dropped their self-titled debut EP today (April 8) via Sony Music Nashville.<\/p>\n

The formation of the band happened through Marlowe\u2019s solo touring career, as all of 80 Acres backed Marlowe on the road. Forming their sound through gritty guitars, anthemic melodies and an unapologetic attitude, the band honors the punk rock genre.<\/p>\n

Marlowe solo-penned four of the five tracks on the EP, and co-produced the project with Ryan Youmans<\/strong>. Medlin co-penned \u201cMess We Made\u201d with Marlowe, which features\u00a0Treaty Oak Revival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just freedom,\u201d says Marlowe. \u201cIt\u2019s fun. It\u2019s feeling like you\u2019re 10 years old in your bedroom playing your guitar for the first time, learning the first song you ever learned or the first chord on your guitar. That\u2019s how it felt making this music.\u201d<\/p>\n
