DRACONIAN<\/strong> have released a new music video!<\/p>\n The Swedish gothic doom metal veterans have revealed their new single Misantrophe<\/strong> River<\/strong>, the second track to be lifted from their upcoming full\u2011length album In Somnolent Ruin<\/strong><\/a>, which is set for release on May 8th, 2026 via Napalm<\/strong> Records<\/strong>. The accompanying music video was shot in the Faroe Islands and directed by Gaui H.<\/strong>, who previously worked with the band on Cold<\/strong> Heavens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Speaking about the new single, vocalist Anders<\/strong> Jacobsson<\/strong> comments, \u201cMisanthrope<\/strong> River<\/strong>\u00a0was the first song written for this album. The initial idea goes back to the early days of Under A Godless Veil<\/strong><\/a>, but it remained dormant until work on this record began. It\u2019s an emotional gothic doom track \u2013 fairly minimalist, yet expansive in feel, with subtle touches that hint at post\u2011metal and give the atmosphere a broader sense of depth. There\u2019s a suggestion of something ancient and mysterious running through it.
