As a disembodied voice on a deliciously soapy CW drama once said, “If two people are meant to be together, eventually they will find their way back.\u201d<\/p>\n

That’s coincidentally what happened for Leighton Meester<\/strong><\/a>, who met fellow teen drama alum Adam Brody<\/strong> in 2011, toward the end of her six-season run playing Blair Waldorf<\/strong> on Gossip Girl. <\/em>Although she didn’t realize that he was the One<\/a> at first.<\/p>\n

Noting that there’s such a thing as a “false starts” when it comes to relationships, she reflected on a February episode of former costar Penn Badgley<\/strong><\/a>‘s Podcrushed <\/em>podcast, “It turns out that was my husband the whole time. But I think I just had to see about a couple of other people first. Now, I go like, \u2018Why did I do that? That was the wrong move, obviously.’ But was it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only did a few other dates not<\/em> get in the way of forever\u2014she and Brody married in 2014 and share two children\u2014but their road eventually led back to Gossip Girl herself, with Meester joining the cast of her husband and Kristen Bell<\/strong><\/a>‘s hit rom-com series Nobody Wants This<\/em>.<\/p>\n

But this case is the opposite of a tangled web, with Bell telling Extra<\/a> <\/em>in February 2025 that bringing The OC<\/em> heartthrob’s real-life wife on board “just seems natural and wonderful.”<\/p>\n
