Henry Webb-Jenkins is premiering his new single, \u2018Fun Around Here\u2019, exclusively on Holler<\/em>, with the British singer-songwriter offering fans a preview of his 2026 HANK<\/em> EP. <\/p>\n The infectious, uptempo offering captures Webb-Jenkins\u2019 penchant for unabashedly old-school country compositions. \u2018Fun Around Here\u2019 finds the fast-emerging artist crooning wistfully across a honky-tonkin\u2019 instrumental about a lost love. <\/p>\n Listen to Henry Webb-Jenkins\u2019 new song, \u2018Fun Around Here\u2019, premiering exclusively on Holler, below:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n But don’t confuse Webb-Jenkins\u2019 sound for the mainstream neo-traditional textures of artists like Zach Top and Jake Worthington, because there’s an unmistakably alternative-country and Americana-adjacent edge that underpins \u2018Fun Around Here\u2019. <\/p>\n This stems from Webb-Jenkins\u2019 eclectic musical upbringing, as he explains to Holler<\/em>, \u201cGrowing up I was a massive fan of British rock and pop music like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and The Kinks. I think now my main influence for my music is country rock from the 70s such as The Flying Burrito Brothers, New Riders Of The Purple Sage and The Eagles. I\u2019m also very influenced by a lot of the country that came out in the 90s such as Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black and Alan Jackson. The guitar and pedal steel playing and musicianship on that stuff is amazing\u201d. <\/p>\n Webb-Jenkins goes on to highlight how fans\u2019 reactions during his live performances helped to hurry along the release of \u2018Fun Around Here\u2019, \u201cIt\u2019s gone down really well at recent shows, I think it introduces another side to my songwriting that I\u2019ve been exploring more lately. I wanted to put something out that people can dance and drink beer to, and I thought it was a good tune to start with\u201d. <\/p>\n \u2018Fun Around Here\u2019 marks a welcome return to regular releases from the UK prodigy, with Webb-Jenkins\u2019 last track arriving in January 2024. The new single serves as the first taste of Webb-Jenkins\u2019 next era, ensuring the excitement is high ahead of his sophomore EP HANK<\/em>, which was recorded in North London and is set to drop in July. <\/p>\n \u201cFor a long time I didn\u2019t have the desire to do any of my own music\u201d, Webb-Jenkins reflects, \u201cI fell slightly out of love with it and was lacking a lot of inspiration. My thought now is if I don\u2019t write songs and put my own music out, there will be a piece of me that\u2019s very much missing. I\u2019m really excited to be releasing again!\u201d<\/p>\n As for the dominant sub-genre or style fans can expect from HANK<\/em>, Webb-Jenkins underlines that he never heads into a writing session planning to create a \u201cCountry\u201d song or an \u201cAmericana\u201d song. Rather, the focus is on making the best song possible. <\/p>\n The \u2018I’m Coming Home\u2019 singer-songwriter muses, \u201cI\u2019d like to give myself space to explore all of those sub genres as I love them all.
