Aspen 2026 Shortsfest final days, April 10-11<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Aspen\u2019s 2026 Shortsfest, recognized as one of North America\u2019s premier short-film festivals and the only Academy Award-qualifying festival dedicated solely to shorts, wraps this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The \u201cIn Conversation with Abe Bengio\u201d panel begins at 2 p.m. April 10 at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre, 406 E. Hopkins Ave. At 4 p.m., the 35th Edition Shortsfest hosts Program 7 at the Wheeler Opera House, followed at 8 p.m. with 35th Edition Shortsfest Program 8, also at 320 E. Hyman Ave.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShortsfest Panel: Pathways and Pitfalls\u201d starts at noon April 11 at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre. At 2 p.m., 35th Edition Shortsfest Program 9 screens, followed at 5 p.m. with the 35th Edition Shortsfest Program 10, both at the Wheeler Opera House.<\/p>\n\n\n

The popular band Goldfish will return at 9 p.m. April 10 at Belly Up Aspen. This South African duo \u2014 Dominic Peters and David Poole \u2014 have made many appearances in Aspen, highlighting their strong fan base. The duo transforms electronic music with a blend of beats, live instruments, African rhythms and sax melodies. Known for hits like \u201cBorn a Miracle,\u201d \u201cMoonwalk Season\u201d and \u201cBody Language,\u201d Goldfish is also launching their record label, 33 Degrees. Local DJ Natti opens. A free \u201cApr\u00e8s Party\u201d featuring music and cocktails will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Aspen Art Museum rooftop with music by GOLDEN, Set Break and Fraser Jones. A solo performance by Shakey Graves will take the stage at 8 p.m. April 16 at Belly Up Aspen. The Texas-born musician blends blues, folk and rock. His early performances included a simple set-up of a kick drum and tambourine, and he won the Emerging Artist Award at the Americana Music Honors & Awards in 2015. He has released five studio albums, including his debut album, \u201cRoll the Bones\u201d (2011), \u201cAnd the War Came\u201d (2014) and \u201cMovie of the Week\u201d (2023). His best-known song \u201cTomorrow\u201d (2016) boasts high streaming numbers. Born Alejandro Rose-Garcia, he was formerly known as an actor who played the recurring character \u201cTalbert\u201d on the television series \u201cFriday Night Lights,\u201d and for his role in \u201cSpy Kids 3-D.\u201d Jobi Riccio opens.
