Roll out the red carpet because the 305 is about to get some extra star power. The Miami Film Festival is back. That means hundreds of movie premieres, screenings and celebrity sightings in the Magic City. Deco\u2019s shining a spotlight on some of the festival\u2019s hottest events.<\/p>\n

The Miami Film Festival is back and transforming the Magic City into the city of stars.<\/p>\n
Lauren Cohen: \u201cWe\u2019re so excited to be back for yet another year of Miami Film Festival. It\u2019s the 43rd edition. 160 films, 45 countries. So many special guests. We\u2019re really excited about Lili Reinhart. Danielle Brooks is here with the film, \u2018If I Go Will They Miss Me.\u2019 We\u2019re gonna be able to hear from Matt Bomer himself. We have Adam Scott coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
Talk about picture perfect!<\/p>\n
This 10-day event brings movies, shorts and documentaries from around the world to the 305 for a series of special screenings.<\/p>\n
Lauren Cohen: \u201cWe try to make it as, like, diverse as possible, so I really try to hit, like, every single genre. We have big budget films. We\u2019re opening with the film \u2018Tuner,\u2019 from Black Bear Pictures starring Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman. We\u2019re closing with an incredible film called \u2018Power Ballad,\u2019 directed by John Carney and starring Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another big film at this year\u2019s fest is Bob Odenkirk\u2019s new action flick, \u201cNormal.\u201d<\/p>\n
And guess what? Bob\u2019s coming too!<\/p>\n
He tells Deco he can\u2019t wait for SoFlo fans to see it.<\/p>\n
Bob Odenkirk: \u201cIt is so exciting and fun. This is a fun movie that makes the audience react over and over with shock, with laughter, with both at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actor plays a fill-in sheriff in a small town that\u2019s full of secrets, meaning there\u2019s nothing normal about \u201cNormal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bob Odenkirk: \u201cIt\u2019s a story that you cannot predict.\u201d<\/p>\n
One thing you can count on is Bob taking and throwing a few punches.<\/p>\n
Bob Odenkirk: \u201cWhen I entered the space of action genre, I was really asking myself: \u2018What do I have to bring here that\u2019s fresh?\u2019 And what I have to bring is a character who\u2019s vulnerable and who actually gets hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n
So what you\u2019re saying is\u2026<\/p>\n
Bob Odenkirk: \u201cI definitely make it a point to look for my character to get his ass kicked.\u201d<\/p>\n
Whether he\u2019s kicking butt or getting whooped, one thing\u2019s for sure \u2014 the Bob Odenkirk action star era is going strong.<\/p>\n
