\u201cI would love that. I would love a downtown stadium that’s close to downtown,\u201d Luft said. \u201cI think, I really love the Kansas City skyline. With that in the background, I think that\u2019d be awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n
Younger players getting ready for their own games nearby also shared their thoughts.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s great!\u201d said Mason Green, a high school player.<\/p>\n
Another player said a downtown location could bring new energy to the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cA downtown stadium could be big time for the team,\u201d said Jack Passan.<\/p>\n
For many, the most important piece is not where the stadium sits. It is that the Royals remain rooted in Kansas City.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it’s big for the organization itself because there’s so much history. It’s rooted in Kansas City,\u201d said Corbin Kalwei. \u201cI just think it’s great.\u201d<\/p>\n
That sentiment was shared across the crowd. If the team is going to move, fans want it to stay local.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause it\u2019s Kansas City,\u201d Luft said. \u201cI mean, it\u2019s always been here and it should stay there in Kansas City, Missouri.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
