CHARLIE MANBY has backed the idea\u00a0for MUSIC\u00a0to be introduced at PDC\u00a0floor\u00a0events.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Champagne Charlie\u2019 has experienced the stark contrast between the sport\u2019s biggest stages and the\u00a0near-silence\u00a0of ProTour competitions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Huddersfield thrower went from reaching the fourth round of the World Championship at Alexandre Palace to gaining a Tour Card at\u00a0Q-School this year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manby said: \u201cYou are allowed one guest per\u00a0person\u00a0and it is silent as well.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cComing straight off a crowd of 3,000 people at Alexandra Palace, it was different.\u201d<\/p>\n

TalkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein has suggested background tunes\u00a0could be introduced at darts\u00a0competitions\u00a0to lift the atmosphere.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He pointed to nine-ball pool and Wimbledon as examples, where a central show court is kept traditional while outside courts have tunes playing in the background.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manby\u00a0added:\u00a0\u201cMaybe,\u00a0yeah, possibly. It is\u00a0definitely a thing\u00a0that people might like.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf I am\u00a0practising\u00a0at home, I will always have something on in the background.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0practise\u00a0in silence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe room is not entirely silent, but there is not much noise going on. It is just like a constant little whisper from everyone.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is different in many ways. But I think if it is\u00a0just\u00a0you and the dartboard and you are playing your\u00a0darts,\u00a0you can perform the same.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut I like\u00a0the big\u00a0stage events.\u00a0I think it\u00a0brings the best out of me.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manby has made a steady start to the season, reaching the\u00a0quarter-finals\u00a0of Players Championship Seven and Eight.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 20-year-old also reached the fourth round of the UK Open and has signed a deal with leading manufacturer Target Darts.<\/span><\/p>\n
