The Princess Royal will have a special role as the Royal Family
\nmarks 100 years since the birth of Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n
Princess Anne will officially open the The Queen Elizabeth II
\nGarden in Regent\u2019s Park, London, on the centenary itself.<\/p>\n
The park has been designed as a tranquil space for reflection in
\nthe very heart of London.<\/p>\n
The Princess, the only daughter of the late Queen, will
\nofficially mark the opening of the space which will welcome its
\nfirst visitors just a few days later.<\/p>\n
it\u2019s been brought to life by HTA Design, to commemorate the life
\nand legacy of Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s one of a number of big royal events taking place on and
\naround April 21st 2026, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen
\nElizabeth II.<\/p>\n
King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit the brand new
\nexhibition at The King\u2019s Gallery in London which showcases the
\nstyle of Queen Elizabeth II. Telling her story through her clothes
\nand image, it features thousands of items from headscarves and
\nballet shoes to the stunning aquamarine tiara she had designed and
\nwhich only she has ever worn.<\/p>\n
The King and Queen will also be joined members of the Royal
\nFamily to see the designs for the national memorial to Queen
\nElizabeth II.<\/p>\n
The memorial, which will be designed by Lord Norman Foster, will
\nbe created by a number of artists who will all meet the royals as
\nthey discuss the plans.<\/p>\n
The Royal Family will also join King Charles and Queen Camilla
\nfor a special reception at Buckingham Palace on the anniversary of
\nthe birth of Elizabeth II. They will meet some other centenarians
\non what would have been the Queen Elizabeth II sent herself a
\ntelegram.<\/p>\n
Elizabeth II as born on April 21 1926 at 17 Bruton Street,
\nMayfair, the home of her maternal grandparents, the Earl and
\nCountess of Strathmore. She was third in line to the throne at
\nbirth but her life changed forever when her uncle, Edward VIII,
\nabdicated and her father became King George VI. She took the throne
\non his death in 1952 and reigned for 70 years, being succeeded by
\nKing Charles III on her own death on September 8 2022 at the age of
\n96.<\/p>\n
