Dr. Robby is in crisis. In a preview for the final two hours of The Pitt<\/em><\/a> season 2<\/a>, Noah Wyle<\/a>\u2019s senior attending physician at PTMC declares: \u201cI don\u2019t know if I want to be here anymore.\u201d Uh-oh\u2014that\u2019s a problem, folks. Even with newcomer Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) preparing to fill in during Dr. Robby\u2019s upcoming sabbatical, I can\u2019t imagine The Pitt <\/em>without him.<\/p>\n

Luckily, Dr. Robby will find the support his needs somehow, because The Pitt <\/em>is already renewed for season 3. Following 13 Emmy nominations and five wins\u2014including numerous honors<\/a> at multiple awards shows for Wyle\u2019s performance\u2014it was a foregone conclusion that The Pitt <\/em>wasn\u2019t wrapping up anytime soon. The Pitt<\/em>\u2019s single-location drama is also so cheap to produce for HBO Max that just about every studio in Hollywood is currently looking for a way to retool their series to the new Pitt <\/em>model.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to make any good show, regardless of whether it\u2019s comedy, drama or documentary\u2026 But what [producer] John [Wells] and Noah and [creator] R. Scott [Gemmill] wanted to do going in was to do a high-quality show, but also one that was set up in a way that you could do 15 episodes,\u201d Max CEO Casey Bloys told Variety<\/em><\/a> in January. \u201cThe concept of the show being on essentially one set made the budget manageable. And that is the one thing I think that we\u2019ve gotten away from in television, that ability to bring shows back on an annual basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just like season 2, HBO Max predicts that season 3 will return for audiences in 2027. But fans will need to wait for the season 2 finale on April 16 before we find out where the series is headed next.<\/p>\n

Wyle did offer one clue in his recent interview with Variety<\/em><\/a>. According to the star, one variable that the writer\u2019s room is considering tinkering with is the weather. \u201cThe only time jump we\u2019re interested in making is to get into a different weather season, to get into a slightly different mode of cases that come with a change in weather,\u201d Wyle said. \u201cIf that was summer, then what happens in the winter when you get cold, snow and black ice?\u201d<\/p>\n

Great question, Dr. Robby! Given that that this is a teaching hospital, I\u2019d love to find out when The Pitt <\/em>returns for season 3 next year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
