It issued an order for the permanent and dynamic blocking of the domain and any other related domains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It also ordered the defendant to refrain from offering or marketing services involving coordinated inauthentic behaviour by any means, and a payment of penalty fees.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2023, Operation Auth\u00eantica is led by CyberGaeco and the Consumer Protection Prosecutor\u2019s Office of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo and supported by IFPI and APDIF do Brasil. There was a heightened focus on the negative impact of streaming fraud at the recent <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/labels\/read\/ifpi-global-music-report-execs-talk-ai-licensing-superfans-and-why-language-is-no-barrier-to-hits\/093793\">IFPI Global Music Report event<\/a> in London.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Operation Auth\u00eantica initiative aims to combat the commercialisation of fraudulent engagement services, including services that <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/digital\/read\/campaign-launches-to-combat-streaming-fraud-with-widespread-industry-backing\/088052\">artificially inflate<\/a> plays on music streaming platforms. This is the third decision under Operation Authentica, following positive rulings against Seguidores and Turbine Digital.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Robust enforcement is part of the meaningful and sustained action needed across the industry<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Melissa Morgia<\/p>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Melissa Morgia, global chief content protection officer at IFPI, said: \u201cUnder Operation Auth\u00eantica, the courts have consistently confirmed that services that enable streaming fraud mislead consumers and are unlawful. This illicit business model commercialises fraud and in the music context, ultimately diverts royalties from legitimate creators. IFPI would like to thank the authorities for their ongoing efforts and will continue to support actions that create serious consequences for those involved.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis decision is another step forward in fighting streaming fraud. Robust enforcement is part of the meaningful and sustained action needed across the industry. Companies at every stage of the streaming value chain \u2013 labels, distributors, platforms, aggregators \u2013 must take proactive steps to prevent, to detect and then to act on fraudulent activity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Paulo Rosa, president of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/labels\/read\/brazil-tackles-fake-streams-operation-following-coordinated-action-by-ifpi-and-pro-musica-brasil\/091796\">Pro-Musica Brasil<\/a> and APDIF do Brasil, said: \u201cPro-M\u00fasica and APDIF applaud the decision taken by the Judge of the 12a Vara C\u00edvel of S\u00e3o Paulo-SP, in which the operators of the website \u2018boom de seguidores.com.br\u2019 were considered as offering misleading advertising and committing fraud, including the ones against the consumers, ordering such website to be shut down.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIn the case of recorded music, the website\u2019s \u2018marketing services\u2019 included the sale of fake and artificial \u2018plays\u2019 of music on streaming platforms, which was clearly considered illegal and fraudulent.
