Can you feel that? There\u2019s new Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> music around the corner, and the excitement is palpable. To support her upcoming third studio album<\/a>, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love <\/em>(out June 12), Rodrigo will release the first single, titled \u201cDrop Dead,\u201d on April 17, and she\u2019s been teasing the track with a series of cryptic videos on her social media.<\/p>\n

In the first set of clips, the pop singer is seen fastening padlocks<\/a> to a series of fences across the world, in cities like Los Angeles, London, Paris, and New York, teasing the track with more mysterious messaging. However, Rodrigo\u2019s latest post is far less subtle.<\/p>\n

Yesterday afternoon, the Grammy winner shared a new video that gives fans a first taste of \u201cDrop Dead\u201d\u2014a pulsing, synth-heavy track that strays from the more rock-leaning music of her past.<\/p>\n

The snippet soundtracked a video<\/a> that sees Rodrigo sitting in a pub, presumably with a couple of friends, while three pints of Guinness sit on the table in front of her. Over the video, she wrote a line that appears to be a lyric from her upcoming song\u2014\u201cI hope you never finish that beer\u201d\u2014and she simply captioned her post: \u201cCheers \ud83c\udf7b.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans of ORod were quick to point out that the singer-songwriter appeared to be making a nod to her most recent ex-boyfriend, Louis Partridge<\/a>, whom she has shared many a photo<\/a> of drinking a pint of Guinness in the past, Oh, and he just so happens to star in the historical Netflix drama titled House of Guinness<\/em><\/a>, too.<\/p>\n

Some reports have suggested that Rodrigo was originally recording an album of love songs, until she and Partridge called it quits late last year.<\/p>\n

In her British Vogue<\/em><\/a> cover story in March, Rodrigo described the music on her third studio album as \u201csad love songs.\u201d She said: \u201cI realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them.\u201d Just imagine all the fan theories that will materialize when \u201cDrop Dead\u201d comes out next Friday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
