Cobie Smulders spoke exclusively to PEOPLE ahead of Shrinking<\/em>‘s season 3 finale<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The actress shares how the on-screen dynamic between Harrison Ford and Jason Segel’s characters is influenced by their real-life friendship<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Smulders also shares details about working alongside Ford<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Cobie Smulders<\/a> is opening up to PEOPLE about her time working on Shrinking<\/em><\/a> season 3.<\/p>\n The actress, 43, reprised her role on the Apple TV+ series as Sofi, the potential love interest of Jason Segel<\/a>\u2019s Jimmy. While their relationship hit a rocky point, the finale brought the two together \u2014 with help from Jimmy\u2019s mentor, Paul (Harrison Ford<\/a>).<\/p>\n In the final few minutes of the April 8 episode, Paul surprises Jimmy for a \u201cgoodbye\u201d lunch and flies out to California after moving in with his daughter in Connecticut. During their reconciliation, Paul reveals he, like Jimmy, meddled in his friend\u2019s life and invited Sofi to lunch with Jimmy. The episode closes out with the two reconnecting.<\/p>\n Smulders spoke with PEOPLE ahead of the finale and remarked on sharing the final scene with Ford.<\/p>\n “I mean, Harrison is one of the greats, right? So it was a really beautiful moment for me, just selfishly, to be able to be in a scene with him is like just a really exciting moment of my life,” the actress says. \u201cWe had a great time, and it was fun to be funny and silly and try to make people laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like his character has been such a mentor to Jason\u2019s [character],\u201d she continues. \u201cThere are so many different layers of that relationship. But I think that when you know when Paul speaks, people really listen.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Harrison Ford in “Shrinking,” The How I Met Your Mother<\/em> alum notes how the character mirrors the impact of Ford\u2019s prolific career. \u201cHe is similar to Harrison Ford in life; he has this wealth of experience to communicate. So when Paul speaks to Jimmy, he really listens.\u201d<\/p>\n Smulders also remarked on working with the entire Shrinking <\/em>ensemble \u2014 Alice (Lukita Maxwell), and their friends Brian (Michael Urie<\/a>), Liz (Christa Miller<\/a>), Gabby (Jessica Williams<\/a>) and Sean (Luke Tennie<\/a>.)<\/p>\n “I felt very honored. I felt very grateful to join this cast,\u201d she says. “It’s such a talented group of people<\/a>.”<\/p>\n Jason Segel in ‘Shrinking’ The Avengers<\/em> actress previously noted how she was \u201creally excited\u201d to reunite with longtime friend, Segel<\/a>, 46. The pair previously starred on How I Met Your Mother<\/em> together.
