I live with that and I manage it,&#8221; the actor tells PEOPLE<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"\">\n<p>Faces of Death \u2014 which also stars Charli xcx, Josie Totah, Aaron Holliday and Jermaine Fowler \u2014 is in theaters now<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Warning: Spoilers for Faces of Death.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/lifestyle\/why-dacre-montgomery-returned-acting-172717854.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Dacre Montgomery;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Dacre Montgomery<\/a>\u2019s latest role, in which he portrays a \u201cmethodical\u201d murderer, OCD plays a central role. It\u2019s also what he found most relatable about the character.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian actor, 31, stars in the new horror movie as Arthur, who re-creates and uploads videos of the kills shown in the titular 1978 film (once widely believed to be an actual snuff film), opposite <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/lifestyle\/barbie-ferreira-shares-where-her-110000350.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Barbie Ferreira;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Barbie Ferreira<\/a>, who plays a content moderator trying to thwart him.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery tells PEOPLE exclusively that what he found most relatable about his mask- and red contact-wearing killer was his experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) \u2014 which, per the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/obsessive-compulsive-disorder\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20354432\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Mayo Clinic;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Mayo Clinic<\/a>, centers around &#8220;a pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears known as obsessions\u201d that \u201clead you to do repetitive behaviors, also called compulsions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely what was relatable to me about Arthur was just, honestly, the OCD,\u201d he says. \u201cThat&#8217;s just definitely my thing. He related to Arthur&#8217;s sense of alienation.
