A \u2018festival\u2019 song. Heavily inspired by classic Sepultura, though it seemed like an untouchable ask, we wanted Max involved. We\u2019re honored to share this song with a legend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The End is Not the End\u2019 is undeniably ATREYU\u2019s heaviest album ever and their most adventurous. \u201cWe realized what made <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/xsrock.com\/atreyu-releases-all-for-you-video\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1259\">ATREYU<\/a> great in the beginning was that we didn\u2019t sound like anyone else,\u201d frontman Brandon Saller explains. \u201cWe didn\u2019t really make sense anywhere. We weren\u2019t an emo band, a metal band, a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/xsrock.com\/punk-rock-news\/\" title=\"punk\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1258\">punk<\/a> band \u2014 but somehow it all worked. We kind of just carved our own path.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Porter McKnight, drummer Kyle Rosa, and Saller created several of \u2018The End is Not the End\u2019\u2019s songs on creative trips.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTokyo made us feel like kids again,\u201d Saller says. \u201cWe\u2019d write for a few hours in the morning, then go out and get lost in all this inspiration. The first song we finished was \u2018Dead,\u2019 and we knew we were onto something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the Japanese sessions, the band and their producer decamped to San Juan Island off the coast of Washington, where isolation became a creative accelerant. \u201cIt was the polar opposite of Tokyo. We didn\u2019t leave the house for four days and wrote some of the heaviest songs on the record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The result is an album that feels simultaneously classic and unfamiliar, aggressive and unselfconscious, deeply emotional and unconcerned with trends.
