Montecito\u2019s \u2018mean girls\u2019 gave Meghan Markle<\/a> a brutal nickname after her the launch of her lifestyle brand last year. The California gossips took to calling the Duchess of Sussex \u201cpumpkin spice\u201d and \u201cWalmart\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The nickname accused Meghan of being a sell-out following \u201ca series of cheap stunts\u201d, according to Mail columnist Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, due to the release of a Netflix<\/a> show, a lifestyle brand, and a podcast. The Mail reported one gossip went so far as to say: \u201cShe had this incredible opportunity to be the first Black woman to marry into the Royal Family<\/a> and make her mark as a chic and charming revolutionary. She’s so obsessed with bees? Why couldn’t she stay in the Family and make honey with King Charles’s bees, he loves that stuff!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Tina Brown said that Meghan <\/a>is trying to be \u201ca sort of instant Beyonc\u00e9 or instant Michelle Obama\u201d but doesn\u2019t want to put in the years to build the \u201cstrong structure\u201d they have.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One reviewer said it was “a Montecito ego trip not worth taking,” while another slammed it as “a ghastly artefact of a particular cultural era that recently met its apocalypse.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

With Love, Meghan was also called an “exercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals, and business plugs.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess’ podcast, was slammed as \u201cscraping the bottom of the barrel\u201d after reportedly failing to get pop culture heavyweights like Beyonc\u00e9, Taylor Swift, and Hailey Bieber.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It was also panned by critics. The Telegraph’s TV critic Chris Bennion claimed it was an “inane stream of mindless aphorisms” with “no confessions or secrets.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Times slammed it as “Meghan’s vapid lessons in self-love,” while The Guardian noted that it was “stomach-turning” and “sycophantic\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
