There are few properties across the U.S. that carry the same kind of legacy as Sagamore Farm<\/a>, a storied equestrian estate<\/a> that is interwoven with some of the most impressive dynasties in the world\u2014including the Vanderbilts and the British royal family<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, the estate’s impressive heritage, which includes its most recent owner, Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank<\/strong><\/a>, has not helped it to find a buyer. Originally listed in early 2025 for $22 million, the Maryland<\/a> property has struggled to secure any concrete offers\u2014and has now returned to the market for the much lower price of $16.5 million.<\/p>\n

Though still a lofty sum, for those fortunate enough to be able to afford a property with such prestige, the most recent ask could well be seen as a bargain.<\/p>\n

Set on approximately 440 acres of rolling countryside in Glyndon\u2019s Worthington Valley, the historic property blends world-class equestrian infrastructure with a grand home rooted in a century of history.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1925 by pharmaceutical magnate Isaac Emerson<\/strong> and later entrusted to Alfred G. Vanderbilt Jr.<\/strong>, Sagamore Farm rose to international fame as one of the premier breeding and training facilities in American horse racing.<\/p>\n

Over the decades, the farm produced legendary racehorses, including Native Dancer, known as the \u201cGalloping Grey Ghost.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe farm attracted global attention during its height, including ties to British royalty, with the queen of England keeping a broodmare on the property,\u201d says listing agent Christina Giffin<\/strong><\/a> of Sotheby’s International Realty.<\/p>\n
