Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility, according to a representative for the pop star. <\/p>\n
The representative did not provide any other details about the decision, including where and why Spears plans to seek treatment. <\/p>\n
TMZ<\/a> was first to report that she checked into a rehab facility in the U.S. for substance abuse, citing sources with direct knowledge. <\/p>\n It comes after Spears, 44, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence <\/a>in March in Ventura County, California. <\/p>\n Following the arrest, a representative for Spears said the incident was “completely inexcusable” and that “hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney\u2019s life.” <\/p>\n There\u2019s been public concern for the pop star over her frequent social media posts, many of which show her dancing alone in her California home, including one where she was dancing with knives<\/a> that she later said were not real.<\/p>\n She last posted one of those dancing videos on Saturday. <\/p>\n
