Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb on ‘Today’ on April 13, 2026

Savannah Guthrie<\/a> and Hoda Kotb<\/a> were back together Monday, as Kotb rejoined her former co-anchor at the Today<\/em><\/a> desk.<\/p>\n “Hi, everybody, good morning, and welcome to Today<\/em>. Nice to have you with us on a Monday morning,” Guthrie said at the top of the broadcast before turning to Kotb and touching her arm. “I’m so glad to have you here, Hoda!”<\/p>\n “I’m so happy sitting next to you in this chair again,” Kotb responded.<\/p>\n “Yeah, it’s good. It’s just like the old times!” Guthrie said.<\/p>\n The women led the show together for seven years, beginning in 2018, until Kotb left<\/a> on Jan. 10, 2025, to spend more time with her family. Kotb is filling in on Today<\/em> this week for Craig Melvin, who is on vacation.<\/p>\n Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our <\/em><\/strong>EW Dispatch newsletter<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Guthrie, who became a Today<\/em> anchor in 2012, took a break from the show in February, after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing<\/a>.<\/p>\n While Guthrie dealt with the family matter, it was Kotb who filled in for her<\/a>. She reassured the Today<\/em> audience at the time that, while the news outlet was concerned with the Guthrie family, they would be keeping viewers in mind, as always.<\/p>\n “There is also a job to do,” said Kotb, who added that the show’s “thoughts and prayers are with [Savannah] 24\/7.”<\/p>\n And when Guthrie decided to sit for an interview about Nancy, she chose to do it with Kotb, who fought back tears<\/a> last month as she spoke with her friend and former co-anchor.<\/p>\n “Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony,” Guthrie said. “It’s unbearable. And to think of what she went through. I wake up every night in the middle of the night, every night, and in the darkness, I imagine her terror. And it is unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought. And I will not hide my face. She needs to come home now.”<\/p>\n Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb host the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2025 With the case still unsolved, the younger Guthrie returned to the studio<\/a> at Rockefeller Plaza on April 6. She announced April 9<\/a> that Kotb would be returning soon.<\/p>\n “Craig, you are heading off on a very well-deserved vacation,” Guthrie said Thursday. “You’ve been holding it down here for a long time. And Monday, we’re going to try a new host here. Her name is Hoda.”<\/p>\n She added, “So that will be fun.”<\/p>\n<\/div>
