Coming out of weekend one of Coachella, few sets have been more discussed than Justin Bieber\u2019s<\/a>. The pop star\u2019s<\/a> first major public performance<\/a> in four years seemed to delight as many people as it befuddled, including Bieber\u2019s pop peers.<\/p>\n Some of the most robust praise came from Lizzo, who wrote on Instagram<\/a> about watching someone who \u201cgrew up in front of the world fully transcend into his artistry.\u201d She praised Bieber for giving \u201cus his all, his whole life,\u201d adding, \u201cJustin invited us and whoever chose to come with him was blessed with a beautiful ride. When you use your gift for God, it will make people uncomfortable. But that\u2019s OK because the ones who stick beside you will feel the love.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Singer-songwriter Labrinth was equally effusive, while dismissing the set\u2019s critics: \u201cJustin\u2026 I see what you\u2019re doing and I love it,\u201d he wrote on his Instagram Stories<\/a>. \u201cBe true! Fuck what anyone else thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n Among those left slightly more confused, but still delighted, by Bieber\u2019s set were Zara Larsson and Katy Perry. Larsson posted a TikTok<\/a> of herself and some friends watching the part of the performance when Bieber put down his guitar and started cuing up viral videos, including his own paparazzi fails.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s giving let\u2019s smoke and watch YouTube,\u201d Larsson captioned her video, while also saying of Bieber, \u201cHe\u2019s in my dream blunt rotation.\u201d And when Bieber pulled up the legendary \u201cdouble rainbow all the way video,\u201d<\/a> Larsson couldn\u2019t help but laugh and exclaim, \u201cWhat the fuck?!\u201d<\/p>\n Perry delivered some good on-the-scene commentary about this part of Bieber\u2019s set too in a video she shared on Instagram<\/a>. In a perfect deadpan, she quipped of Bieber\u2019s YouTube-ing, \u201cThank God he has Premium. I don\u2019t want to see no ads.\u201d<\/p>\n Bieber\u2019s Coachella marked the poster\u2019s highly anticipated return to the stage since his Justice tour ended in 2022. (Bieber postponed, then canceled the run while dealing with a series of health issues.) Over the next four years, he was largely absent from the stage, outside a handful of private gigs and scattered TV performances.
