Pop star Katy Perry denies sexually assaulting \u201cOrange Is the New Black\u201d actor Ruby Rose in Australia nearly 20 years ago. <\/p>\n
In a statement shared with The Times on Monday, a representative for the \u201cI Kissed A Girl\u201d and \u201cTeenage Dream\u201d singer, 41, said the allegations that Rose publicized on social media \u201care not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.\u201d Rose, whose screen credits include the CW \u201cBatwoman<\/a>\u201d series and \u201cJohn Wick: Chapter 2,\u201d publicly accused Perry of sexual assault in a series of Threads posts Sunday evening. <\/p>\n \u201cMs. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,\u201d Perry\u2019s rep said. <\/p>\n A representative for Rose did not immediately respond to request for comment Monday. <\/p>\n Rose, 40, raised her allegations against the singer in the comments section of a Complex Music post <\/a>about Perry\u2019s reaction to Justin Bieber\u2019s Coachella set<\/a>. \u201cKaty Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne,\u201d Rose wrote<\/a>, adding \u201cwho gives a s\u2014 what she thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n The Australian model-actor detailed her alleged assault in a number of replies to other commenters. Rose wrote in one comment that the alleged assault occurred when she was in \u201cin my early 20s.\u201d Replying to another comment that referenced Perry\u2019s 2008 breakout hit, Rose said<\/a> the singer \u201cdidn\u2019t kiss me\u201d and that the sexual assault occurred when the actor was \u201c\u2018resting\u2019 on my best friends lap to avoid [Perry].\u201d<\/p>\n Rose alleged Perry \u201cbent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting\u201d genitals on the actor\u2019s face \u201cuntil my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted on her.\u201d In a reply to another commenter, Rose said she had previously gone public with the alleged assault but presented it \u201cto be a \u2018funny little drunk story\u2019 because I didn\u2019t know how else to handle it.\u201d She also wrote<\/a> that Perry \u201clater agreed to help me get my US visa\u201d so she decided to keep the alleged assault a secret. <\/p>\n \u201cI DID tell yall she wasn\u2019t a good person,\u201d Rose said, \u201cInstead I got attacked by.. everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n Perry previously faced allegations of sexual assault in 2019. In August 2019<\/a>, an actor who starred in her \u201cTeenage Dream\u201d music video accused her of verbally bullying him during the video\u2019s production and exposing his genitals to others without his consent during a party held separately from the shoot. Shortly after those allegations surfaced, a TV host in Georgia also reportedly accused the singer<\/a> of harassing her at an industry party.<\/p>\n Rose, amid her controversial exit from \u201cBatwoman\u201d in 2021, was accused by Warner Bros. Television of \u201crevisionist history\u201d<\/a> when she publicly raised allegations of toxic working conditions against the series\u2019 production team.
