The <\/span>Girls<\/span><\/a> creator reflected on the <\/span>end of her professional and personal relationship with fellow<\/span> <\/span>showrunner <\/span>Jenni<\/strong> <\/span>Konner<\/strong>, which began when she was 24-years-old.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was extremely na\u00efve about the fact that when you work with people and your creative, financial futures are intertwined, there are going to be moments where that is in tension with friendship,\u201d Lena told <\/span>The New York Times<\/span><\/a> in an interview published April 13. \u201cI was not an adult. I still lived with my parents, and I was desperately looking for safety and a sense of security and something that felt unconditional.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, as the now<\/span> <\/span>39-year-old learned, \u201cBusiness relationships are conditional. They have to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI remember my father being like, \u2018Not everybody says I love you to everyone they work with and sleeps over at their house,\u201d Lena continued. \u201cAs a 40-year-old, I can now recognize that I was looking for a different kind of relationship than the one that work can provide.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
