NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 After having more than a dozen books of her own published, Whoopi Goldberg<\/a> wants to help others do the same.<\/p>\n The Oscar-winning actor and co-host of \u201cThe View\u201d has launched the imprint WhoopInk, a partnership with Blackstone Publishing that will focus on bringing \u201cfresh, diverse new talent to the marketplace\u201d and on works spanning across genres. According to Blackstone, Goldberg will be \u201cintimately involved\u201d with the imprint, on everything from cover design to promotion.<\/p>\n At least one WhoopInk author already is well known to Goldberg \u2014 Rick Bleiweiss, a Blackstone executive who signed up Goldberg’s \u201cBits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me\u201d for the publisher. Goldberg plans to publish the next novel in Bleiweiss’ \u201cPignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives\u201d mystery series and to release some of her own books, including a follow-up to \u201cBits and Pieces,\u201d a bestselling memoir that comes out in paperback this week.<\/p>\n \u201cI am personally looking forward to finding new authors, working with established authors, and bringing influential voices into this curated imprint,\u201d Goldberg said in a statement Monday.<\/p>\n Numerous other celebrities have overseen their own imprints in recent years, including Sarah Jessica Parker,<\/a>John Legend<\/a> and Questlove<\/a>.
