Peter Hook<\/a> has dedicated Joy Division<\/a>\u2018s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame to Ian Curtis<\/a>, and confirmed that he\u2019ll be attending the ceremony.<\/p>\n Joy Division and New Order<\/a> will enter the Rock Hall as a single act during a ceremony in Los Angeles in November, following previous nominations in 2023<\/a>,\u00a02025<\/a> and 2026.<\/p>\n A record-breaking six British acts have been announced for this year\u2019s edition<\/a>, also including Oasis<\/a>, Billy Idol<\/a> and Sade<\/a>. They appear in the \u2018Performer\u2019 category alongside Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n Hook \u2013 who played bass with Joy Division until they became New Order when Ian Curtis took his own life<\/a> in 1980, before parting ways with the band in 2007 \u2013 has now responded to the prestigious nod on social media.<\/p>\n \u201cHi. I\u2019d just like to say how wonderfully pleased I am to be finally accepted into the Cleveland Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame,\u201d the musician said in a video, while wearing an Oasis T-shirt.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been looking forward to it for years, so I definitely am gonna make the most of it. I\u2019d like to say that this is for Ian Curtis, and for all our fans of both bands. Without you, we would be nothing. So thank you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n Hook signed off by telling viewers: \u201cI will see you on the night.\u201d In the caption, he wrote: \u201cWhat an honour \u2013 thank you! See you at the ceremony\u2026\u201d It is not yet known whether the current members of New Order will be in attendance, too.<\/p>\n The bassist quit New Order in 2007 due to friction with his bandmates, and there had also been a legal row over royalties.
