The Rolling Stones<\/a> have shared a new vinyl-only single as The Cockroaches, titled \u2018Rough & Twisted\u2019. Listen below.<\/p>\n The legendary band prompted rumours of their return recently after cryptic posters popped up around London<\/a>.<\/p>\n They featured the name \u2018The Cockroaches\u2019 \u2013 a past pseudonym used by Mick Jagger<\/a> and co. \u2013 along with a QR code that directed fans to a new website, copyrighted to the Stones\u2019 label, Universal Music.<\/p>\n Last week, a teaser video was shared on an Instagram channel under the name \u2018thecockroaches2026\u2019<\/a>. This featured a caption that read: \u201c64 & Counting\u201d, a reference to the number of years since the group was founded.<\/p>\n In the clip, an unidentified man wearing a \u201cWho The Fuck Are The Cockroaches?\u201d T-shirt puts on a white label 12\u201d record and sits down to listen. The track opens with a dirty blues electric guitar riff, and it cuts off just as the unmistakable sound of Jagger\u2019s voice says: \u201cDo it!\u201d<\/p>\n Now, a full rip of \u2018Rough & Twisted\u2019 has been uploaded online after the single was released as a vinyl-only \u201cwhite label\u201d record last Saturday (April 11). The physical edition was limited to just 1,000 numbered copies at independent record shops worldwide, and has since sold out.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, why don\u2019t you drive me\/ <\/em>Down that rough and twisted road?\/ Why don\u2019t you guide me\/ \u2018Cause I don\u2019t know which way to go?<\/em>\u201d Jagger sings over distorted guitar in the first verse.<\/p>\n The frontman later adds: \u201cYeah, all you feed me was just rancid ric\u0435 and bones\/ All I drank was muddy water\/ As lonely as a saxophon\u0435\/ Why don\u2019t you take me\/ To where I wanna go? To Natchez, Mississippi, Sicily and Rome<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Jagger, who we find on the road to Puerto Rico, then sings of \u201ctyranny and all that crazy, crazy fucked-up stuff<\/em>\u201d ahead of a harmonica and guitar solo.<\/p>\n In the comments section on TikTok, one fan described the song as \u201cearly \u201970s Stones\u201d with \u201ctoday\u2019s production and engineering\u201d. It\u2019ll be the band\u2019s first full-length effort since 2023\u2019s Grammy<\/a>-winning\u00a0\u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Stones have again joined forces with Andrew Watt<\/a>, who produced their aforementioned previous LP. The Times<\/em><\/a> has reported that the new project will not be the last from the rock icons, as they already have at least 10 songs written for another release after this upcoming record.<\/p>\n Watt revealed last year that he had been\u00a0working with the Stones again to help them make another album<\/a>. Later, guitarist Ronnie Wood confirmed reports that new music was in the works, saying the LP was finished and due to arrive in 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
