DeKALB <\/b>-\u2013 On Monday, the City Council discussed a proposed entertainment district downtown, allowing patrons to carry beverages from one place to another to increase activity in the evening hours.<\/span><\/p>\n If the proposal is passed, bars and restaurants would have the opportunity to join this district and would be marked with a sign indicating their involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n Patrons would register with their ID at the first business where they receive alcohol, then they would receive a paper wristband. The wristband would allow patrons to travel to different properties with their drinks, which would stop being sold after 9:30 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n This would allow patrons to carry alcoholic beverages from one place to another without constantly being carded.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhat I\u2019m most excited about is that our downtown merchants will be able to create new events and things that they want to do.
