The two series couldn’t be more different \u2014 the former sees Pfeiffer as a grieving widow who uproots her Manhattan life for Montana<\/a>; in the other, she plays a former Hooters waitress helping her daughter raise a baby<\/a> \u2014 and Pfeiffer, 67, puts on uniquely impressive performances in both.<\/p>\n As she takes in the whirlwind of it all, Pfeiffer tells PEOPLE she’s “both” enjoying the chaos and ready for a bit of a break.<\/p>\n “I’m loving that both shows have been so well received, and they’re so radically different,” she says. “They’ve just brought a lot of joy in different ways to people.”<\/p>\n That said, Pfeiffer admits, “I am looking forward to some downtime. It’s been a while.”<\/p>\n Michelle Pfeiffer at the Paramount+ LA Tastemaker event for “The Madison” on Friday, February 27, 2026 Pfeiffer has said she feels like it’s her “time” right now as she’s experiencing career highs in new ways.<\/p>\n \u201cI just can do whatever I want, and I have a husband who is able to travel with me because he can write anywhere,\u201d she told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> <\/em>at the New York City premiere of The Madison<\/em> in March. \u201cI think we both know that I\u2019ve put in my time, and now it\u2019s my time<\/a>.”<\/p>\n “The landscape has changed so much,” she continued. “There\u2019s so many more opportunities for women my age \u2014 especially in television \u2014 which didn\u2019t used to be the case, even 10 years ago. So it’s a very exciting time.”<\/p>\n Margo’s Got Money Troubles<\/em> sees Pfeiffer reunite with Elle Fanning<\/a>, whom she’s worked with previously and has known since Fanning was young.<\/p>\n “I’d seen her in The Great<\/a>,<\/em> and I was just blown away by her, and I saw her become a woman,” Pfeiffer tells PEOPLE of her costar. “I thought \u2014 okay, she’s not a little girl anymore.”<\/p>\n Fanning, 28, is also an executive producer on the series with Pfeiffer, who praises her costar as a “strong producer.”<\/p>\n Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” “[She’s] just the consummate professional and she’s able to just wholeheartedly slip into character, do this emotional scene, do three takes, come out of it, and handle issues as a producer,” Pfeiffer says. “And then sidebar, you’re off [camera]. Greg Kinnear<\/a> and Nicole Kidman<\/a> also star in the series, which Pfeiffer’s husband, David E. Kelley<\/a>, wrote.<\/p>\n The series is described as a “bold, heartwarming and comedic family drama following recent college dropout and aspiring writer, Margo, the daughter of an ex-Hooters waitress and ex-pro wrestler, as she\u2019s forced to make her way with a new baby, a mounting pile of bills and a dwindling amount of ways to pay them.”<\/p>\n
