The couple put serious thought into their daughter\u2019s name. Hayley Erbert told People<\/em> in an interview on January 21, 2026, that \u201cEverley was always at the top of a list that I had,\u201d adding that the spelling was a choice \u2014 designed to match the last three letters of Erbert\u2019s own name, Hayley.<\/p>\n

The couple also explored the numerology behind \u201cEverley\u201d and discovered it was a master number of 11. \u201cShe was 11 days late, I\u2019m born on October 11,\u201d Erbert said. \u201cIt just called to us, and we were like, \u2018This is right. This is it.’\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the middle name, Hough initially wanted to incorporate \u201crain\u201d or \u201cbow\u201d to honor the fact that Everley is their rainbow baby following a devastating miscarriage. They ultimately chose \u201cCapri\u201d instead. \u201cWhen we threw Capri in there, we were like, \u2018Oh my gosh, this is beautiful,’\u201d Erbert said, while Hough added, \u201cCapri is the little spicy part of her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Everley arrived via home birth, meaning Hayley Erbert \u201cdidn\u2019t have the option of an epidural or any pain management<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t know what sounds you can make until you have a child,\u201d she told People<\/em>. \u201cDid I ever expect it to be the way that it was? Absolutely not, but it was so empowering and beautiful, and it\u2019s how our beautiful baby girl came into this world. I would not change a single second of it. Proud dad Derek Hough recalled the atmosphere: \u201cWe had candles everywhere, beautiful music playing. To be in the room during Hayley\u2019s labor, holding her \u2026 She just became power. I was in awe the whole time. I was like, \u2018Damn. Y\u2019all women are badasses.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Hayley Erbert\u2019s pregnancy news in July 2025 came more than a year after she suffered a near-fatal health scare during a December 2023 stop on the duo\u2019s Symphony of Dance Tour. She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy, followed by cranioplasty surgery to replace a large portion of her skull.<\/p>\n
