Dua Lipa<\/a> loves herself a good cocktail \u2014 and some Britney Spears.<\/a> Dua turned into an expert mixologist for the day as part of Vogue\u2018s Toast to Cinema<\/a> series, which saw the pop star pairing her favorite songs with various drinks made from scratch.<\/p>\n The \u201cLevitating\u201d artist crafted a Basil Smash inspired by Spears\u2019 2003 Grammy-winning anthem \u201cToxic,\u201d which Dua crowned as \u201cone of the greatest pop songs ever made.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re very silly and giggly and fun and I need to hear \u2018Toxic\u2019 at the end of every single night when I\u2019m feeling like that. It\u2019s one of my favorite songs,\u201d she gushed. \u201cI think it\u2019s one of the greatest pop songs ever made. It makes me feel nostalgic, but also at the same time, if it came out yesterday, it would be an absolute smash. I love it so much.\u201d<\/p>\n Dua recalled the \u201cToxic\u201d music video, which saw Britney dressed as a flight attendant. \u201cThe bit that stays in my mind that I remember so well is Britney in a stewardess outfit, and I don\u2019t think anyone has been able to make a stewardess outfit look so good,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n The Future Nostalgia singer continued to gush about her appreciation for Britney. \u201cI love Britney so much,\u201d she raved. \u201cI love everything about her, all her songs. She\u2019s such an icon.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in December, Spears co-signed Dua<\/a> with a post to Instagram of the British pop star\u2019s \u201cHoudini\u201d cover art. \u201cPRETTY NICE RIGHT,\u201d she wrote about Dua\u2019s Radical Optimism lead single, which topped the Hot Dance\/Electronic Songs chart.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cToxic\u201d served as Spears\u2019 second single from her 2003 album In the Zone. The Bloodshy & Avant-produced track reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> and earned Spears her first and only Grammy victory to date in the best dance recording category in 2005.<\/p>\n Dua came to Spears\u2019 defense regarding the harsh media and paparazzi\u2019s treatment of the pop star in the 2000s during a 2021 profile with the Los Angeles Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe feeling of going down the street and they\u2019re trying to catch you in this very awkward picture \u2014 it can be anxiety-inducing, honestly,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd Britney\u2019s time was pre-Instagram when everything was purely about the tabloids, and there were no laws in place about what paparazzi were allowed to do. She was being harassed \u2014 that\u2019s exactly what it was.\u201d<\/p>\n More recently, earlier in April, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Dua appears to have a famed paparazzi photo<\/a> of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan driving with Paris Hilton<\/a> from the 2000s on the back of her iPhone.<\/p>\n Following her arrest on suspicion of DUI <\/a>in March, a rep for Spears confirmed on April 12 that the 44-year-old voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility,<\/a> but did not provide any further details or reasoning.<\/p>\n Watch the full video of Dua Lipa with Vogue below.
