The Voice<\/a><\/em> crowned the winner of its 29th season during the Tuesday, April 14, finale. Before the winner<\/a> was named, though, the Top 4 artists<\/a> hit the stage for more performances, and the studio audience of superfans and Voice<\/em> alum voted for their favorites of the night.<\/p>\n For coaches Kelly Clarkson<\/a>, John Legend<\/a>, and Adam Levine<\/a>, the stakes were higher than ever this season, as they were all past winners of The Voice<\/em>. Clarkson entered the finale with two artists on her team (Liv Ciara and Mikenley Brown), while Legend and Levine had one each (Lucas West and Alexia Jayy, respectively).<\/p>\n Scroll down for a recap of the night\u2019s performances and to find out who was voted the winner at the end of the finale!<\/p>\n The first artist to take the stage in the Finals was Alexia. She performed \u201cLady Marmalade,\u201d which Coach Levine noted was definitely \u201cfinale material.\u201d<\/p>\n Griffin Nagel\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cYou just come out here and do exactly what you do, and you make it special,\u201d Clarkson raved. \u201cWe\u2019ve heard that song a lot of times in our lives \u2026 but not like that.\u201d<\/p>\n Legend called Alexia a \u201cstar\u201d and said she carries herself \u201clike you\u2019re supposed to be on the Grammys.\u201d Levine pointed out all of the powerhouse artists Alexia has covered this season and promised her, \u201cYOU are what made all of those moments so special.\u201d<\/p>\n Mikenley\u2019s first finale performance was of Ariana Grande<\/a>\u2018s \u201cAlmost Is Never Enough,\u201d which she dedicated to her grandmother, who is battling cancer.<\/p>\n Griffin Nagel\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Legend pointed out that Mikenley\u2019s \u201cconfidence is coming through\u201d in the Semifinals and Finals. \u201cYou\u2019re just blossoming into a wonderful artist,\u201d he said. Levine told Mikenley that he\u2019s a \u201cfan,\u201d adding, \u201cI love your voice, I love your tone, I love you!\u2019<\/p>\n Clarkson praised Mikenley\u2019s riffs and joked that she tries to sing them in the shower herself. \u201cIt is so special, what you do.\u201d<\/p>\n For Lucas\u2019 first performance, he sang \u201cCold as Ice\u201d by Foreigner. He decided to show his range by stepping away from the piano, which he hasn\u2019t done much on the show.<\/p>\n Griffin Nagel\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Clarkson and Levine agreed that it was the right move not to play piano. \u201cThat was a move you had to make,\u201d Levine assured the aspiring singer, while Clarkson called his commanding of the stage \u201creally cool.\u201d<\/p>\n Lucas\u2019 coach was so proud. \u201cYour voice sounded more powerful, clear, and beautiful than ever,\u201d he said. \u201cI love you doing something that felt different from all the stuff you\u2019ve done before.\u201d<\/p>\n The final performance of the first round was from Liv Ciara, who sang \u201cThe Greatest\u201d by Billie Eilish<\/a>. She wanted to prove with this song choice that she could \u201cdig down deep\u201d with an emotional performance.<\/p>\n Griffin Nagel\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n All three coaches were absolutely floored that Liv is just 16 years old. \u201cYou took us through the emotions of the song so beautifully,\u201d Legend raved. \u201cIt was so raw and honest. Beautiful job.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson needed to take a minute to compose herself because she was nearly in tears. \u201cYou have such a vision for yourself,\u201d she told her teenage artist. After Liv left the stage, Legend agreed that she\u2019s fully ready to be a pop star.<\/p>\n Mikenley returned to the stage with an upbeat song that gave her the ability to move around the stage. She performed Olivia Dean\u2019s \u201cMan I Need.\u201d<\/p>\n Casey Durkin\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Legend said that Mikenley sounds \u201cso cool singing anything,\u201d adding, \u201cYou\u2019re just showing everybody \u2026 here\u2019s my style, here\u2019s my taste. You\u2019re introducing us to who you are and I think that\u2019s super cool.\u201d<\/p>\n Levine praised Mikenley\u2019s style and agreed with Legend\u2019 sentiment about her originality. \u201cIt\u2019s super specific and I think that\u2019s a great thing and it\u2019s solidifying your status beyond the show,\u201d he confirmed.<\/p>\n Finally, Clarkson called Mikenley \u201cso rad\u201d and applauded her for showing the audience exactly what they can expect from her.<\/p>\n Lucas paid tribute to his coach by performing Legend\u2019s first big hit song, \u201cOrdinary People,\u201d in the finale. Legend urged his artist to make the performance \u201cmore dramatic\u201d when he hit the stage.<\/p>\n Casey Durkin\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Levine praised Lucas for performing with just himself and the piano, not relying on a band to add to the show. \u201cThat is the purity of you,\u201d he confirmed.<\/p>\n \u201cI was just so happy watching you do this today,\u201d Legend gushed. \u201cYou told me your mother used to play you these songs, and as artists, it\u2019s cool for us. I felt something today, and that was really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n Liv put her own spin on Christina Aguilera\u2019s \u201cWhat a Girl Wants\u201d for her second performance. Clarkson urged her to change up the song to avoid comparisons to Aguilera, and Liv complied.<\/p>\n Casey Durkin\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThe fact that you have so much direction at this point in your career \u2026 I\u2019m just so excited for where you\u2019re gonna go,\u201d Legend said. Levine praised the arrangement of the song and said Liv did a \u201cwonderful job.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson told Liv that she\u2019s \u201cready to be a pop star,\u201d adding, \u201cYou dance, you sing, you write, you arrange. You\u2019re just ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n When Alexia hit the stage for her second performance of the night, she sang \u201cOne and Only\u201d by Adele<\/a>, taking on yet another majorly talented artist.<\/p>\n Casey Durkin\/NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n All three coaches had tears streaming down their faces after Alexia performed. \u201cYou are important,\u201d Levine told his singer. \u201cYou make people reflect on their own life. When you tap into that, you make the world feel a little more together and communal. That\u2019s really special. I\u2019ve never experienced the feeling we all just had together.\u201d<\/p>\n Before the winner was revealed, the coaches joined their finalists for duets onstage, and then it was time to read the results.<\/p>\nAlexia Jayy<\/h2>\n
