Former “Summer House”<\/a> star Luke Gulbranson<\/a> has his sights set on a different type of share house.<\/p>\n The reality TV alum announced in an Instagram post<\/a> on April 15 that he launched a campaign for Congress.<\/p>\n Gulbranson, 42, is running for a House seat representing Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District.<\/p>\n He is running as a Democrat, according to an April 15 filing with the Federal Election Commission<\/a>. He will look to unseat the incumbent Rep. Pete Stauber, who is seeking a fifth term.<\/p>\n According to his website<\/a>, Gulbranson’s campaign is focused on “lowering costs, protecting essential programs, and expanding access to affordable healthcare.”<\/p>\n A native of Eveleth, Minnesota, Gulbranson starred on three seasons of “Summer House” from 2020 to 2022.<\/p>\n In a campaign video<\/a>, Gulbranson said he’s “not here to play politics.”<\/p>\n “I’m running to get Congress working for the people again. To fix problems, not cause them. To protect our lands, to protect good-paying union jobs, and to help families who live on fixed incomes,” he said.<\/p>\n Gulbranson emphasized his working-class upbringing, which included periods of financial hardship. He also mentioned his Bravolebrity past.<\/p>\n “Yeah, I’ve been on reality TV. That’s drama for show. What’s happening in DC is real drama with real consequences,” he said.<\/p>\n Several of Gulbranson’s former “Summer House” costars reacted to the news of his foray into politics.<\/p>\n “You guys…you know I love my Luke!” Lindsay Hubbard wrote in an Instagram<\/a> story while encouraging followers to donate to his campaign.<\/p>\n “Let\u2019s go buddy,” Kyle Cooke commented on his announcement video.<\/p>\n Gulbranson joined “Summer House” in its fourth season, which aired in February 2020. He starred in two more seasons before leaving the show after Season 6.<\/p>\n He also appeared on the first two seasons of the spin-off, “Winter House”.<\/p>\n During his time on Bravo, Gulbranson worked as a model and hockey coach, later beginning a jewelry line and maple syrup brand. He is also an actor and real estate agent in New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n More recently, Gulbranson appeared on Netflix’s “Selling the OC” when he went on a date with Polly Brindle.<\/p>\n He has also reportedly dated fellow reality TV personalities, including “The Bachelorette” star Tayshia Adams<\/a> and “Real Housewives of Potomac” cast member Ashley Darby<\/a>.<\/p>\n Gulbranson also previously dated fellow “Summer House” cast members Hannah Berner and Ciara Miller.<\/p>\n Melina Khan is a national trending reporter for USA TODAY.
