Madonna<\/a> has announced the long-anticipated sequel to\u2019 Confessions On A Dance Floor\u2019 \u2013 with\u00a0 \u2018Confessions II\u2019 arriving this summer to help listeners \u201cdance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies\u201d.<\/p>\n The record is set for release on July 3 and marks the sequel to her seminal 2005 record, which she first started hinting at last February<\/a>. After revealing that she had been \u201cputting my heart and soul\u201d into a new album, Madonna later shared that she had returned to Warner Records<\/a> for the LP and was planning on releasing it in 2026.<\/p>\n Yesterday (Tuesday April 14), it seemed that an announcement was imminent<\/a> when the pop icon\u2019s entire Instagram account was wiped clean with her official website<\/a> rebranded with a new \u2018Confessions\u2019 theme.<\/p>\n Now, after black-and-white posters were spotted in London, Madonna has announced that the new record will be released on July 3. She dropped the news on Instagram today (Wednesday April 15), unveiling the new pink and lilac album cover and simply sharing the title and release date in the caption.<\/p>\n On her website, the record is available to pre-order now<\/a> and comes in two variations: a standard issue of the album which features 12 songs and a deluxe version that contains four bonus tracks.<\/p>\n At time of writing, the tracklists for both have not been shared, although Madonna has revealed that the first song will be titled \u2018One Step Away\u2019.<\/p>\n She also explains that the new record is best summed up in the opening lines of that track: \u201cPeople think that dance music is superficial, but they\u2019ve got it all wrong. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.\u201d<\/p>\n The original \u2018Confessions\u2019 album featured singles \u2018Hung Up\u2019, \u2018Sorry\u2019, \u2018Get Together\u2019 and \u2018Jump\u2019, and went on to win the award for Best Electronic\/Dance Album at the 2007 Grammys. It also sold roughly 4million copies worldwide in its first week, and earned a place in the 2007 Guinness World Records<\/em> after topping the charts in over 40 countries.<\/p>\n \u2018Confessions II\u2019 will be Madonna\u2019s first record since her 14th album \u2018Madame X<\/a>\u2019, which arrived in 2019.<\/p>\n Around the time of that release, the \u2018Like A Virgin\u2019 singer spoke to NME<\/em> about her relationship with being in the public eye<\/a>. \u201cIt has its pluses and minuses,\u201d she revealed. \u201cThe great thing about being famous is that you have a voice and you can spread messages and fight for people who don\u2019t have the ability to fight for themselves, and share your wealth with people who need help.\u201d<\/p>\n As for other new Madonna music, last month producer William Orbit revealed that he had written a \u201csuccessor\u201d to the classic Madonna album \u2018Ray Of Light\u2019<\/a>, but claimed to have had \u201cnil response\u201d from the singer.<\/p>\n There is also a biopic on the way about the \u2018Material Girl\u2019 singer, and while no release date has been shared yet, it will see Julia Garner take on the lead role<\/a> and Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> filmmaker Shawn Levy will be involved.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
