After Australian actor Ruby Rose accused pop star Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her more than a decade ago on Sunday, police in the Australian state of Victoria said they had opened an investigation into the alleged incident, which a representative for Perry called \u201ccategorically false.\u201d<\/p>\n
In Victoria, there is no statute of limitations<\/a> on reporting a sexual offense.<\/p>\n \u201cMelbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,\u201d a Victoria Police representative confirmed to Yahoo via email. \u201cPolice have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne\u2019s [central business district]. As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.\u201d<\/p>\n Rose, 40, is best known for her acting in Netflix<\/a>\u2019s Orange is the New Black<\/em>, The CW\u2019s Batwoman<\/em> and in the movie John Wick: Chapter 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n The Australian actress first made the accusations publicly on April 12 in a series of now-deleted replies to a Threads post<\/a> highlighting Perry\u2019s response to Justin Bieber\u2019s Coachella set over the weekend.<\/p>\n Rose claimed<\/a> in the comments: \u201cKaty Perry sexual [sic] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n She responded to one user, who asked about what happened, writing<\/a>: \u201cShe didn\u2019t kiss me. She saw me \u2018resting\u2019 on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.\u201d<\/p>\n Rose responded to another user saying she kept it a secret because Perry had agreed to help Rose get her U.S. visa.<\/p>\n In another deleted post, Rose wrote, \u201cI was only in my early 20s. I\u2019m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.
