He tumbled into the front row as he attempted to catch a foul ball off the bat of Tigers rookie Kevin McGonigle.<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The injury occurred in the first inning.<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember it being in the air for a while, initially, right off the bat,\u201d Collins said. \u201cI didn\u2019t even think about the wall at all. And then, yeah, it just kept drifting on me. Obviously, in hindsight, I wish I would\u2019ve checked the wall. But the fact it was 3 feet tall, I don\u2019t know if that even would\u2019ve affected anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Royals manager Matt Quatraro and head trainer Kyle Turner raced out to check on Collins. After a few minutes, Collins walked off the field under his own power.<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight when it happened, I know I\u2019d be a liability out there,\u201d Collins said. \u201cThat\u2019s kind of why we decided I probably shouldn\u2019t play or finish the inning, because I don\u2019t want another line drive hit at me and I hobble over to the ball.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Royals replaced Collins with Tyler Tolbert in left field. On Wednesday, Collins was <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Royals\/status\/2044492260922753118\">not in the starting lineup<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel good,\u201d Collins said. \u201cI\u2019m just grateful I didn\u2019t hit my head or anything on the seats in the stands. It could\u2019ve been a lot worse. I saw the video. But I feel pretty good today. Just moving around and trying to get the swelling out as quick as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Collins was able to get treatment after Tuesday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s not ready to play,\u201d Quatraro said Wednesday. \u201cYou know, extreme emergency, maybe come off the bench. But, you know, it\u2019s something that\u2019s going to take a couple of days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Collins has appeared in 16 games this season. He is hitting .214 (9-for-42) with a home run and four RBIs.<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The Royals started Lane Thomas in left field Wednesday. He has posted strong career numbers against Tigers starter Jack Flaherty.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Collins will try to find his way back into the lineup soon.<\/p>\n<p><!----><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s obviously good news,\u201d Collins said. \u201cAnd now, it\u2019s get as much swelling out and try to get that range of motion back.
