Even reading that might make some grimace. But at the New York premiere of \u201cYou, Me & Tuscany\u201d on Wednesday, the mood told a different story. The audience<\/a> laughed, called out and gasped together as each scene unfolded.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that that\u2019s the loudest audience I\u2019ve ever been in outside of an \u2018Avengers\u2019 movie,\u201d said Reg\u00e9-Jean Page<\/a>, who became a breakout star in the first season of the Netflix show \u201cBridgerton.\u201d<\/p>\n For many viewers in the crowd<\/a>, the communal experience of watching a wholesome, Black-led rom-com in a theater felt like a breath of fresh air.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n \u201cSometimes you need to just have those movies where it just makes you laugh, even if it\u2019s corny,\u201d said Halle Bailey<\/a>, who played Ariel in the live-action film of \u201cThe Little Mermaid.\u201d<\/p>\n But during the premiere, the film\u2019s producer, Will Packer, said it was hard to find a studio willing to back a theatrical romantic comedy in a streaming era, let alone a Black-led one.
