{"id":2376140,"date":"2026-04-16T15:44:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T15:44:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2376140"},"modified":"2026-04-16T15:44:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T15:44:14","slug":"mark-pitts-exits-as-president-of-rca-records-launches-new-management-venture-cofvnders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/mark-pitts-exits-as-president-of-rca-records-launches-new-management-venture-cofvnders\/","title":{"rendered":"Mark Pitts exits as President of RCA Records, launches new management venture COFVNDERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Mark Pitts has stepped down as President of RCA Records.<\/p>\n<p>Pitts, who also served as CEO of ByStorm Entertainment, the label imprint he founded in 1998, confirmed his departure on Tuesday (April 14).<\/p>\n<p>He will maintain a relationship with RCA and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Sony Music Entertainment [2,073 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/sony\/sony-music-group\/sony-music-entertainment\/\">Sony Music<\/a> in a consultancy capacity, working with the artists he developed during his tenure at the label, including Chris Brown and Miguel.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes as Pitts launches <strong>COFVNDERS<\/strong>, a new multimedia management company operating out of New York City and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Pitts\u2019 biggest artist, Chris Brown recently announced a co-headlining stadium tour with Usher dubbed \u201cThe R&amp;B Tour\u201d, which is set to kick off in late June in Denver, in partnership with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Live Nation [731 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/live-nation\/\">Live Nation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pitts is credited as a producer on the tour, which, according to a press release, was orchestrated through COFVNDERS while the company was still operating in stealth.<\/p>\n<p>Brown is also preparing to release his 12th studio album, <em>BROWN<\/em>, on May 8 via Chris Brown Entertainment\/RCA Records.<\/p>\n<p>The new album follows the Grammy Award-winning <em>11:11 (Deluxe)<\/em>, which took home Best R&amp;B Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025. Its lead single, <em>It Depends<\/em> featuring Bryson Tiller, was nominated for two Grammys at the 2026 ceremony \u2014 Best R&amp;B Song and Best R&amp;B Performance.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond artist management, COFVNDERS has partnered with entertainment attorney and entrepreneur <strong>Tamayu Takayama<\/strong> on a new initiative called the <strong>Tokyo Sound Continuum<\/strong> (TSC).<\/p>\n<p>The program, backed by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, a cultural body of the Government of Japan, through its Creator Support Fund, is designed to bring US producers and songwriters to Tokyo to collaborate with Japanese creators.<\/p>\n<p>Pitts said he plans to use the initiative to build a longer-term ecosystem aimed at exporting Japanese talent to the global stage, supported by a network of international executives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud of everything we built at RCA,\u201d said Pitts. \u201cI feel blessed to have played a part in shaping some of the most important careers in music, but even more importantly, in leading and helping guide the lives of young women and men. Cole.<\/p>\n<p>Following the 2011 Jive-RCA merger, Pitts was appointed President of Urban Music at RCA Records.
