Boards Of Canada<\/a> have dropped a mysterious new track called \u2018Tape 05\u2019, their first new music for 13 years.<\/p>\nThe song appeared on both the Scottish duo\u2019s YouTube channel and that of their longtime label, Warp. No other information about it, or whether it\u2019s part of a wider project, has surfaced as of yet.<\/p>\n
\u2018Tape 05\u2019 is an ambient piece of music whose main melody comes from a harp, with subtle shoegazey textures behind it. It\u2019s their first release since their 2013 album \u2018Tomorrow\u2019s Harvest\u2019 and arrives off the back of a drawn-out trail of teasers.<\/p>\n
The band have displayed brief signs of activity in the 13 years since that album came out, in the form of random remixes, archival reissues, and an NTS DJ mix.<\/p>\n
