During her appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast<\/a>, she shared the real reason she didn\u2019t want to reprise her role as Kat Hernandez, revealing it \u201cwasn\u2019t dramatic.\u201d The actress announced her exit<\/a> from the series in 2022 after its second season.<\/p>\n \u201cIn fact, it was kind of the opposite of dramatic where it was like long process of like being like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if this is it for me,\u2019\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd then having conversations with people and us trying to figure out how to make Kat like a fully fleshed-out character. And it just wasn\u2019t going anywhere. So I just think I truly was just like, \u2018I think since we can\u2019t find anything, and we can\u2019t land on anything, I\u2019m like, let me just go, like, let me just go do my thing.\u2019 Because it\u2019s a long time and you can\u2019t leave.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI don\u2019t need to be on the biggest TV show on earth if I\u2019m not acting, you know? So I\u2019m like, I would rather do an indie movie where I\u2019m acting, I\u2019m flexing my muscles, I\u2019m being creatively asked to do things rather than kind of sitting around to be like a background character. I don\u2019t know. And some people are like, \u2018I would do that.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Good for you.\u2019 If you want to be a background character for nine months, that\u2019s totally fine and cool. But I was like, I want to do other stuff. I want to produce like indie cinema.
