Quebec icon C\u00e9line Dion is returning with a new French-language song Friday, in what\u2019s her first original track in several years.<\/p>\n
It also marks a reunion with Jean-Jacques Goldman, who\u2019s behind some of her most defining work.<\/p>\n
The song is called Dansons, according to Dion\u2019s team Thursday.<\/p>\n It is set to be released at 12:01 a.m. Friday, coming as she prepares for a return to the stage later this year in Paris.<\/p>\n Dansons, or Let\u2019s Dance in English, reportedly leans into resilience and uncertainty, with Goldman describing it as a reflection of a world that has changed little since the pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re still dancing above the abyss,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n The two collaborated on Encore un soir in 2016, but their most famous partnership remains D\u2019eux, the 1995 album that became the best-selling French-language album of all time and cemented Dion\u2019s crossover appeal.<\/p>\n A lyric video accompanying the new song, filmed in the streets of Paris, was released alongside the track.<\/p>\n Anticipation is building over Dion\u2019s long-awaited return to live performance. She is scheduled to headline a five-week residency at Paris La D\u00e9fense Arena later this fall.<\/p>\n These shows would mark Dion\u2019s first time on stage since singing Edith Piaf\u2019s Hymne \u00e0 l\u2019amour at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
