David Haye got himself into trouble in the jungle for his “sexist” comments because bots couldn’t save him, according to his pals.<\/p>\n

The boxing legend<\/a> sparked outrage on I’m A Celebrity<\/a>… South Africa with his comments in camp about “ugly girls”<\/a>. He rubbed co-stars such as Scarlett Moffatt the wrong way by claiming his girlfriend Sian Osborne has the “personality of a proper ugly bird”.<\/p>\n

And now Haye’s friends have claimed that he never means to offend and wouldn’t have gotten himself into this mess if he’d been able to run his remarks by a politcally-correct AI bot. They suggested he used to “fact check” what he said to make sure it was acceptable for TV or any events he appeared at.<\/p>\n

But, of course, the boxer’s trusty bots weren’t available to him in the jungle. A source told The Sun<\/a>: “His focus inside camp has always been the game, survival decisions and camp dynamics rather than trying to offend anyone.<\/p>\n

“Those who know him best understand there was no malice behind the remark. When AI started he started using it all the time to check he\u2019s not offending someone before he comments.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a bit of a comfort blanket for him \u2013 but he didn\u2019t have that in the jungle. Those who know him best understand there was no malice behind the remark.”<\/p>\n

Haye had caused controversy when he shared a theory he called the “ugly duckling syndrome”. He said: “Most ugly girls realise they\u2019re not pretty enough\u2026 they\u2019ve got to have a personality to banter and tell jokes to overlook that they\u2019re not aesthetically amazing straight away.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s called ‘ugly duckling syndrome’.” He continued: “They get prettier as they get older but they\u2019ve still got the personality of when they were younger.”<\/p>\n

Haye added: “Most super pretty girls are idiots. But their ugly friend, they\u2019ve got to work a bit harder. They\u2019ve got to be more personable, they\u2019ve got to be nicer to everyone.”<\/p>\n

Corrie star Beverley Callard called him out on the comments, asking: ” “Does that mean handsome men have s*** personalities?” Haye hit back, saying he “does not pay attention to men”.<\/p>\n
