The record marks the band\u2019s first studio album in over 20 years, following an extended hiatus after their early\u20112000s output.<\/p>\n<p>The new single shifts gears considerably, revealing a far more vulnerable and introspective side to the band. Stripped of their usual punch, the track captures a moment of personal struggle with stark emotional honesty. Speaking on the song, vocalist <strong>Jason Perry<\/strong> explains, <em>\u201c<strong>Shit Summer<\/strong> is the song from the album that I\u2019m most proud of. I think it\u2019s the best thing we\u2019ve ever made. Ever. A heartbreaking reminder of a very difficult time for me. I had tears in my eyes singing this song.
