Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,<\/a> has suffered a new blow according to reports because her sister-in-law Princess Catherine is the hottest topic in royal conversations in the US, a source has claimed. The Sussexes have lived in California since 2020, the same year they stepped down as working members of the Royal Family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Both Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan have tried to carve out a niche for themselves, with the Duke penning<\/a> a tell-all memoir and appearing alongside his wife in Netflix<\/a> documentaries and high-profile interviews. Meghan has also launched her lifestyle product venture, As Ever, which is described as “more than a brand, it’s a love language”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Despite living in Montecito, California, for nearly five years, the couple have “dropped out of the conversations” in the US, a friend and adviser to the Royal Family has said. The source told The Times: “What they haven\u2019t been able to do is create a public presence that\u2019s respected and popular.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “I was in LA recently and was struck by how they\u2019re not the topic of conversation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “Everyone wanted to know about the King and Kate\u2019s health. Harry and Meghan have dropped out of the conversation.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Princess of Wales had major abdominal surgery in January 2024 and spent two weeks recovering in the London Clinic hospital. In March of that year, she confirmed in a public video message that she had been diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She added that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment. The Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis came just one month after it was confirmed that King Charles had a form of cancer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
