Available now: Sign up here<\/a> for the best food, drink and entertainment coverage in Stanislaus County. <\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Adam Carolla, a podcast and radio host, comedian and author, will bring his stand-up show to Modesto.<\/p>\n Carolla is scheduled for 8 p.m. May 16 at the State Theatre, a performance for ages 18 and older only.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Adam Carolla Show\u201d podcast holds the Guinness Book of World Records for \u201cmost downloaded podcast,\u201d according to the State Theatre\u2019s website. \u201cThe podcast now receives more than 30 million downloads a month …\u201d<\/p>\n He became known for co-hosting an advice call-in radio show with Dr. Drew Pinsky that later became an MTV staple, \u201cLoveline.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to co-host Comedy Central\u2019s \u201cThe Man Show\u201d with Jimmy Kimmel, among other projects.<\/p>\n Carolla, who\u2019s outspoken when it comes to politics, said he \u201cprefers to say he\u2019s a libertarian,\u201d according to March story in the Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cOn X, Carolla\u2019s feed is a steady stream of recirculated posts blasting Democrats, protesters, Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen, Zohran Mamdani, Chuck Schumer and his favorite target, California Gov. Gavin Newsom,\u201d the Washington Post story said. \u201cHis liberal fans \u2014 and he does have them \u2014 simply ignore this side of Carolla because they\u2019d rather enjoy his comedy.\u201d<\/p>\n This won\u2019t be Carolla\u2019s first visit to the region. He performed at Turlock Community Theatre in 2023 and headlined a 2013 comedy event in Merced.<\/p>\n Comedian Andrea Abbate will open the Modesto show.<\/p>\n
