Kail, the Tony Award-winning director of Hamilton,<\/em> also directs Proof,<\/em> which stars Ayo Edebiri<\/a> and Don Cheadle<\/a> in leading roles.<\/p>\n Williams, donning a long red tunic, black pants and heels, posed alongside Kail, who wore a simple black suit and black tie for the opening night of the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play. The couple has been married since 2020, and they share three children<\/a>, including son Hart Kail; Kail is also stepfather to Williams’ daughter Matilda Ledger, whom she welcomed with late actor Heath Ledger<\/a>.<\/p>\n In Proof<\/em>, Catherine (Edebiri), the brilliant but restless daughter of renowned mathematics professor Robert (Cheadle), is thrust into turmoil after her father’s death when a notebook containing a groundbreaking mathematical proof is discovered. As questions swirl about who truly authored the work, Catherine must confront the complicated legacy left behind \u2014 and prove herself in the process.<\/p>\n Thomas Kail and Michelle Williams. In addition to Edebiri and Cheadle, Jin Ha<\/a> and Kara Young<\/a> \u2014\u00a0who, just weeks ago, took over the role from Samira Wiley<\/a> in the wake of a health issue \u2014 complete the cast. Proof<\/em>, which began performances on March 31, was written by playwright David Auburn and features original music by Kris Bowers.<\/p>\n Kail serves as a producer for the Broadway revival, alongside Tony Award-nominated producer Mike Bosner.
