Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> said President Donald Trump<\/a> \u201creally stepped in it\u201d with his days of attacks<\/a> on Pope Leo XIV<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trump hasn\u2019t been happy with the pontiff\u2019s calls for peace amid the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. But the pope continues to speak out, as he did again on Thursday. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cBlessed are the peacemakers,\u201d Pope Leo said. \u201cAnd woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth… the world is being ravaged by a handful of tyrants.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Although the pontiff didn\u2019t mention anyone by name, to Kimmel, it was fairly obvious. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI wonder who he was talking about there,\u201d Kimmel said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n But Trump now seems to be doing some damage control. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHe had to do a lot of tap-dancing when the press got hold of him today,\u201d Kimmel said, then aired a supercut video of the president\u2019s comments. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Check it out in his Thursday night monologue: <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
